The exhibition The Torlonia Marbles. Collecting Masterpieces opens to the public on 14 October 2020, curated by Salvatore Settis and Carlo Gasparri. It will be on view until June 2021 in Rome in the new exhibition space of the Capitoline Museums at Villa Caffarelli. Over 90 works have been selected from the 620 catalogued marbles of the Torlonia Collection, the most prestigious private collection of ancient sculpture in the world.
In order to visit Villa Albani Torlonia, first download and fill in the request form, specifying your chosen language. Visits are free. Contribution to support the Foundations projects and activities are welcome with a recommended minimum contribution of €50 per person. Whenever possible, visitors may see the object of restoration they contribute to. Visits last two hours in the presence of an art historian. They include the Casino Nobile and the collections of Villa Albani Torlonia, the Italian garden and the Kaffeehaus, featuring the collection of recently restored sculptures.
Should the request be accepted, The Fondazione Torlonia will propose the earliest date available. Given the high numbers of requests and in order to support the Foundation’s mission, any contribution will ensure preferential treatment in the assignment of the dates available.
